BOTOX® Cosmetic / Dysport®

Botox Cosmetic and Dysport are FDA approved neurotoxins that temporarily relax the muscles to which they are injected. The treatment is utilized to reduce moderate to severe lines in the face, amongst other benefits.

Areas treated may include:

  • Frown lines between the brows
  • Forehead lines
  • Crow’s feet
  • Brow lift
  • Lip flip
  • “Smoker’s” lines
  • Chin dimpling
  • Underarms for excessive sweating
  • TMJ

  • Avoid alcohol and smoking for at least 1 week before your treatment.

  • ​Medications such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, fish oil, Ginkgo Biloba, and prescription blood thinners will cause increased risk of bruising in the treated area(s). Consult your primary care provider about stopping these medications at least 5 days prior to your treatment to decrease this risk.

  • ​You will need to consult with your primary health provider prior to your procedure if you have conditions such as diabetes, poor blood circulation, or neurological/muscular disorders.

  • Apply ice or a cold compress to any treated areas immediately post injection & intermittently for the 1st day.

  • It is advised that you do NOT massage any of the treated areas for at least 1-2 weeks after injection.  Do not schedule any facials or perform any aggressive facial treatments for this 2 week period.

  • Try not to engage in excessive exercise or sweat profusely for 1-2 days after your treatment.

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers are used to restore lost facial volume, giving the skin a more youthful appearance. These fillers may be used to correct a variety of skin imperfections such as fine lines, moderate to severe wrinkles, volume loss, contouring and acne scarring.

  • ​Avoid alcohol and smoking for at least 1 week before your treatment.

  • ​Medications such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, fish oil, Ginkgo Biloba, and prescription blood thinners will cause increased risk of bruising in the treated area(s). Consult your primary care provider about stopping these medications at least 5 days prior to your treatment to decrease this risk.

  • ​You will need to consult with your primary health provider prior to your procedure if you have conditions such as diabetes, poor blood circulation, or neurological/muscular disorders.

  • Let your injector know if you have a history of cold sores (they may prescribe you an oral antiviral medication to prevent exacerbation).

  • Inform your injector of any known allergies to numbing medications (topical or local).

  • Apply ice or a cold compress to any treated areas immediately post injection & intermittently for 2-3 days after your treatment.  This will help to decrease any swelling and possible bruising associated with your procedure.

  • It is advised that you do NOT massage any of the treated areas for at least 1-2 weeks after injection.  Do not schedule any facials or perform any aggressive facial treatments for this 2 week period.

  • If bruising does occur, you may apply Arnica Cream or Vitamin K cream to the area to aid in the healing process.

  • Try not to engage in excessive exercise or sweat profusely for 1-2 days after your treatment.

  • Avoid wearing makeup in the treated area(s) for approximately 24 hours after treatment (mineral makeup is preferred).

biostimulators / sculptra® aesthetic

Sculptra is a biostimulator that, after injected into the skin, stimulates the body’s own collagen growth in the deep layers of the skin. This revitalization of the skin’s collagen helps to restore structure and overall volume to the face. Results will develop gradually over 3 to 4 months and can last up to two years.

  • ​Medications such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, fish oil, Ginkgo Biloba, and prescription blood thinners will cause increased risk of bruising in the treated area(s). Consult your primary care provider about stopping these medications at least 5 days prior to your treatment to decrease this risk.

  • ​You will need to consult with your primary health provider prior to your procedure if you have conditions such as diabetes, poor blood circulation, or neurological/muscular disorders.

  • Massage the treated areas five times a day for about five minutes each time for five days after treatment.
  • Do not get a facial or massage for two weeks after your filler procedure.
  • Avoid strenuous workouts and alcohol for 48 hours after treatment.
  • If bruising does occur, you may apply arnica cream/gel to the area to aid in the healing process.

Kybella®

Kybella is a non-surgical treatment that permanently dissolves areas of unwanted fat. The active ingredient is synthetic deoxycholic acid, which is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that helps break down fat. The most common area treated is the “double chin,” yet Kybella can also be used for other areas such as lower abdomen and “bra fat.” Multiple treatments may be necessary and results are obtained gradually.

  • You will need to consult with your primary health provider prior to your procedure if you have conditions such as diabetes, poor blood circulation, or neurological/muscular disorders, or history of problems with swallowing.

  • For most patients, swelling is likely. Apply ice or a cold compress to any treated area(s) immediately post injection and intermittently for 2 to 3 days after your treatment. This will help decrease any swelling and possible bruising associated with your procedure.
  • Try not to engage in excessive exercise or sweat profusely for 1-2 days after your treatment.
  • Sleep with your head slightly elevated for 2-3 nights to reduce swelling.
  • Avoid make up to the treated area(s) for the first 24 hours.
  • Notify your provider if you experience any difficulty in swallowing, scabbing of areas injected, or have any asymmetry in your smile.
